Jason McCarthy was born November 12, 1986 at Lawton Indian Hospital. Jason was raised in Geronimo, Oklahoma until the age of 13. His father and one of his great inspirations is Victor McCarthy and his mother is Tandi McCarthy. His father was the one who sparked his interest in art at a very young age. His main influences in the artworld are Rance Hood and Tim Saupitty. At two years of age his father drew an indian head with a roach and Gene Simmons (from KISS) face. He gave his son the pencil and the rest is history. Jason was hooked and from then on he was drawing. At first he practiced drawing mountains & landscapes, then he moved on to such things as churches, houses, and cars. As an early teenager Jason got interested in tattoo style illustration. He would do illustrations for friends & family. He started tattooing other friends and eventually tattooed his own sleeve design. Jason has a wide range of artistic talent and he is still young and learning the craft. He has come a long way as an artist and as a great person with awesome vision and at the same time he is his own worst critic. He is a perfectionist that still throws his art away that he doesn't agree with. His mother still digs the pictures out of the trash and she saves them. Thankfully he keeps the ones he likes. We are honored to present his artwork in the gallery below.
